Tester's Responsibilities

It is BDME's responsibility to undertake an air tightness test in accordance with ATTMA standards and to work within guidance provided by ATTMA.  BDME will provide the following:-

• Testing equipment [fully calibrated] necessary to assess the dwelling
• Consumables associated with above [temp sealing etc]
• Testing / assessment via software / reporting / certification

 

A suitable date will be scheduled / agreed with the client for the testing to be undertaken.  Weather can play a part in the ability to test so re-scheduling is sometimes required.

 

Client Responsibilities

• Provide safe access and egress to property
• Prepare property for testing
• Agree suitable date for testing
• Provide a safe and stable 240V mains power supply
• Ensure that the dwelling is not being used by others / other trades
• Advise of any site induction procedures that are necessary
• Provide keys / opening for all external doors
• Ensure that all external doors / windows are in their final fitted state
• Ensure that all drainage traps [sinks / WCs] are filled / sealed with water
• Ensure that all builders work is completed to the external envelope
• Ensure that all services penetrations are properly sealed [boiler flues, drainage pipes, electrical boxes / switches etc]
