Air Tightness Testing

In the UK air testing is based on ATTMA procedures which are referenced in Building Control documents and standards.  The procedures cover definitions, standards, testing methods, reporting and theory.

Testing is based on BS EN 13629 2001 - "Thermal Performance of Buildings - Determination of Air Permeability of Buildings - Fan Pressurisation Method.

BDME provides domestic air testing services and also commercial air testing services for buildings measuring up to 4000 m3.

SAP Calculations  EPCs  Air Tightness Testing  Thermographic Studies

To date BDME has carried out many hundreds of tests with a very high success rate.  Most of the dwellings have formed part of the integrated service where SAP and EPC work have also been provided.  A detailed technical understanding of the design intent and the specifications provided at warrant stage is critical to achieving a successful air test at completion.

Should you wish to have an air test undertaken for your project please make contact with us or alternatively navigate to the Enquires page where you will be able to send a web request.
